I created this ice cold logo by using photoshop, duplicating 3 layers and then merging them, in order to create the swoosh like affect on my lettering i used the liquify option and zoomed in in order to create fine details lastly i plastic wrapped it in photoshop which created a better look and more ice like.  

  to create this look i got a photo of google of some Liverpool architecture and placed it into photoshop and went under the filter tab and chose this filter, in order to get the grains a certain size i managed the size of the filter. in this particular one I used the stylize feature and then extrude and that creates this block like feature all across the picture. I then increased the size of the individual blocks in order to make it look it has a obvious filter.
